To meditate, emptying thought entirely, but especially wishes, fears, and opinions, is my goal. If I give my energy to the universe in this way, the universe prospers. In these times, the effort to focus seems almost impossible, but I trust it nonetheless, and continue the attempt. It helps to keep at bay the bipolar nature of news media, which uses my head as nothing so much as a racquet ball!
Concurrently, taking care of the creatures, the life, in my immediate surroundings is helpful. Feeding birds, tending gardens, simply being in nature, whether in a park or one’s yard, is calming.
